Subject: Todays Sock Monkey brought to you by the color Green
I can’t seem to pose these little guys any other way. They just look so natural with that smug little expression and their arms crossed. :)
These sock monkeys really do have an attitude about them.
Green Outdoor Sock Monkey
Maybe I’ll come up with another pose someday though.

These two cuties are headed to the land down under. I love it when good ole’ folk art gets exported.
Who says America has no culture! ;) Sorry, I guess I might be a bit touchy about that. I was recently in South America hanging out with a nice German guy who did not hold back his opinions of Americas lack of taste and culture.
Back to Sock Monkeys- I’ve been asked how I make the slightly folded ears for the classic sock monkey.
I draw the shape. (for classic is about 80% of a full circle)
Sew it. (for pre-sewn sock monkey kits this shape is already sewn in)
Turn it right side out.
Bring the two ‘corners’ together and make a small sorta cone shape and sew that to the sock monkeys head.
Happy Monkey Making!

I went to Nike WHQ for the event. They only added the Portland race about 10 days before the event. I was so glad they did. (even though i was disappointed that portland was not listed on the shirt) :(
It was very fun! Nike knows how to host an event. They had a local news guy to MC and great on-site amenities. And I never had a bib # like that. ;) 151,612
At the finish line they gave you what looked like a baton - it had a id style bracelet in it with a graphic of runners on it- but the real treat was a pair of Nike Dri-fit Human Race running socks.
I've only done a few 10k's and I think this was a PR for me. 58:36.
My nike+ time and chip time did not match exactly. I need to calibrate my sensor again, it was about .2 miles off. And had me finishing the 10k right at the 6 mile marker for a time of 56:22.
It was a great race and I will certainly run it again- should they do it next year. :)
I am already signed up for the virtual half-marathon in Oct. *can't wait*
And I am one proud older sister!
He has been a starving artist/game designer for a few years now. And he's

It is a very well thought out and interesting game. I really hope it takes off!
This is my favorite playing piece. The lady bug. :D
